When a disaster strikes, a large group of people may be affected either mentally or physically. This group, although united by their communual ordeal, may consist of people of differnt ethnic or cultural origin.

Komend voorjaar zijn Impact en het Nederlands Genootschap van Burgemeesters (NGB) van plan om bijeenkomsten te organiseren rond de interviewbundel “Wereld van Verschil”. In deze bundel vertelden getroffenen en nabestaanden van crises over hun ervaringen met de overheid.

Een drama heeft zich voltrokken. De crisisorganisatie is geactiveerd. Ontzetting en verdriet verspreidt zich over het land en al gauw klinkt de roep om een herdenking of maken mensen zich op voor een stille tocht. Op welke manier kan een gemeente hier het beste mee omgaan? In deze handreiking vindt u een overzicht van aandachtspunten bij de organisatie van een officiële herdenking na een schokkende gebeurtenis, calamiteit of ramp en veel praktische tips en handvatten. De tips zijn gebaseerd op ervaringen uit de praktijk.

Agressie en geweld tegen werknemers met een publieke taak is een hardnekkig probleem. Gemeentelijke bestuurders en managers hebben invloed op de omvang en de gevolgen van agressie en geweld waar hun medewerkers mee te maken krijgen. Toch is het grotendeels onbekend welke rol bestuurders en managers vervullen bij de aanpak van agressie en geweld. Ook is onbekend wat hen aanzet tot handelen bij incidenten. Het zojuist verschenen onderzoek ‘Bestuur in actie’, biedt nieuw inzicht en aanknopingspunten voor beleid.

This handbook is a compilation of experiences shared during the Radicalisation Awareness Network (RAN) meetings of the Voices of Victims working group (RAN VVT), held from 2012 to 2015. The RAN VVT working group considered how testimonies from victims of terrorism can work as a powerful
narrative in countering violent extremism (CVE).

To examine the resource utilization of patients with high levels of somatization and health-related anxiety.

DESIGN:

Consecutive patients on randomly chosen days completed a self-report questionnaire assessing somatization and health-related, hypochondriacal anxiety. Their medical care utilization in the year preceding and following completion of the questionnaire was obtained from an automated patient record. The utilization of patients above and below a predetermined threshold on the questionnaire was then compared.

To test whether a disclosure intervention improves subjective health and reduces medical consumption and sick leave in somatising patients in general practice.

Non-blind randomised controlled trial.

SETTING:

10 general practices in the Netherlands.

PARTICIPANTS:

161 patients who frequently attended general practice with somatising symptoms.
