Abstract

Background: Delayed disclosure of rape has been associated with impaired mental health; it is, therefore, important to understand which factors are associated with disclosure latency. The purpose of this study was to compare various demographics, post-rape characteristics, and psychological functioning of early and delayed disclosers (i.e., more than 1-week post-rape) among rape victims, and to determine predictors for delayed disclosure.

Background: Dissociation is a disruption of and/or discontinuity in the normal, subjective integration of one or more aspects of psychological functioning, including memory, identity, consciousness, perception, and motor control. A limited number of studies investigated combat-related dissociation.
Objective: The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between dissociative symptoms and combat-related trauma.

Background and Objectives: Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and stress are significant problems among returning veterans and are associated with reduced quality of life. Design: A correlational design was used to examine the impact of a polymorphism (5-HTTLPR) in the serotonin transporter promoter gene on post-deployment adjustment among returning veterans. Methods: A total of 186 returning Iraq and Afghanistan veterans were genotyped for the 5-HTTLPR polymorphism. Symptoms of PTSD, depression, general stress, and anxiety were assessed along with quality of life.

Background and objectives: Although intimate partner violence (IPV) has demonstrated strong associations with anxiety and posttraumatic stress, these constructs have rarely been examined simultaneously in IPV research. Gaps in knowledge remain as to their differential associations to substance use problems among IPV-victimized women. Design: A sample of 143 community women self-reported on their current IPV victimization, mental health and substance use problems.

Background: Common mental disorders are strongly associated with long-term sickness absence, which has negative consequences for the individual employee’s quality of life and leads to substantial costs for society. It is important to focus on return to work (RTW) during treatment of sick-listed employees with common mental disorders. Factors such as self-efficacy and the intention to resume work despite having symptoms are important in the RTW process.

Voor u ligt het rapport ‘Meedoen. Een onderzoek naar participatie, welbevinden en
begeleiding van hervestigde vluchtelingen’. Met dit rapport levert het Centraal Orgaan
opvang asielzoekers een bijdrage aan de kennis en inzichten over hervestigde vluchtelingen
in Nederland.
Binnen het hervestigingsproces hebben naast het COA meerdere organisaties een
belangrijke rol. De samenwerking met onze ketenpartners is de sleutel voor succes.

Beatrice de Graaf en Daan Weggemans verrichten voor het eerst onderzoek naar de terugkeer in de samenleving van ex-gedetineerden wegens jihadisme. Uit het onderzoek blijkt dat het re-integratieproces van dergelijke gedetineerden vaak niet soepel verloopt. Een deel van hen raakt juist sterker verbonden met radicale netwerken tijdens hun verblijf op de Terroristenafdeling in de gevangenis, doordat zij hier in aanraking komen met andere jihadisten . Verder is er door de arrestatie en detentie sprake van toegenomen gevoelens van wantrouwen en wrok.
