Coping styles in refugees with PTSD : Results from a randomized trial comparing

Background
While treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in refugees is generally effective, many refugees remain symptomatic after treatment. Coping styles could be relevant to PTSD treatment response and as such may be a potential focus of PTSD treatment.

Aims
The study aims to examine 1) if baseline coping styles are related to treatment response after EMDR therapy or stabilization, and 2) if coping styles change during these treatments.

Meta-correlation of the effect of ketamine and psilocybin induced subjective effects on therapeutic outcome

There is some evidence that the subjective effects of ketamine and other psychedelics like psilocybin are crucial for their therapeutic outcomes, such as treatment of depression or substance use disorder (SUD). We performed a meta-analysis and systematic review on the correlation of subjective symptoms and dissociation versus ketamine-induced therapeutic outcomes in patients with depression or SUD. A similar analysis was conducted for psilocybin-induced therapeutic improvement.

The effectiveness of Problem Management Plus at 1-year follow-up for Syrian refugees in a high-income setting

Aims. Problem Management Plus (PM+) has been effective in reducing mental health problems among refugees at three-month follow-up, but there is a lack of research on its long-term effectiveness. This study examined the effectiveness of PM+ in reducing symptoms of common mental disorders at 12-month follow-up among Syrian refugees in the Netherlands.

A Latent Class Analysis on Indicators of Early Prolonged Grief Disorder and Well-Being Among Dutch Adults Bereaved During the First Year of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Most studies examining prolonged grief disorder (PGD) in people bereaved during the COVID-19 pandemic are focused on psychopathology. However, mental health encompasses both absence of psychopathology and presence of well-being. This is the first study examining symptom profiles of early PGD and subjective mental well-being in 266 Dutch adults recently bereaved during the pandemic. Early PGD and well-being indicators were assessed with the Traumatic Grief Inventory–Self Report Plus and the World Health Organization–Five Well-Being Index, respectively.

The Association Between Trajectories of Self-reported Psychotic Experiences and Continuity of Mental Health Care in a Longitudinal Cohort of Adolescents and Young Adults

Background and Hypothesis

Young people (YP) with psychotic experiences (PE) have an increased risk of developing a psychiatric disorder. Therefore, knowledge on continuity of care from child and adolescent (CAMHS) to adult mental health services (AMHS) in relation to PE is important. Here, we investigated whether the self-reported trajectories of persistent PE were associated with likelihood of transition to AMHS and mental health outcomes.

Response of patients with complex forms of PTSD to highly intensive trauma treatment : A clinical cohort study.

Objective: Although highly intensive trauma treatment programs show promising results in the treatment of patients with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), it remains uncertain if patients with complex forms of PTSD can benefit equally from these intensive programs. To investigate whether patients with the dissociative subtype of PTSD (PTSD + DS) and patients with probable complex PTSD (CPTSD) draw equal benefits from a highly intensive trauma treatment program as patients with PTSD.

Unified in remembrance : reflections on collective war commemoration by war-affected immigrants in the Netherlands

Decades after World War II, major commemorations are still organised to collectively remember this war. Aiming for inclusive societies, the perspectives of immigrants with different war experiences are important to be heard in relation to these commemorations.

Moral injury appraisals and posttraumatic stress symptoms in trauma-exposed police officers : a latent class analysis

Background: Police officers encounter various potentially traumatic events (PTEs) and may becompelled to engage in actions that contradict their moral codes. Consequently, they are at riskto develop symptoms of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), but also moral stress or moralinjury (MI). To date, MI in police officers has received limited attention.

Potentially morally injurious experiences and associated factors among Dutch UN peacekeepers : a latent class analysis

Background: During peacekeeping missions, military personnel may be involved in or exposed to potentially morally injurious experiences (PMIEs), such as an inability to intervene due to a limited mandate. While exposure to such morally transgressive events has been shown to lead to moral injury in combat veterans, research on moral injury in peacekeepers is limited.

Pre‑job loss grief reactions and work attachment among sick‑listed employees : Introduction of the imminent Job Loss Scale

Background: With this study, we aimed to explore the emotional experiences of sick-listed employees facing imminent job loss, as this emotional distress may hinder successful job search outcomes. The study had two objectives: (1) to develop and validate the Imminent Job Loss Scale (IJLS) for assessing pre-job loss grief reactions and (2) to examine its relationship to work attachment.
