In dit hoofdstuk worden enkele behandelvormen voor posttraumatische stressstoornissen beschreven, zij het zeer beknopt, die nog niet veel aandacht hebben gekregen in de voorgaande hoofdstukken. deze behandelvormen hebben echter onmiskenbaar een waarde in de behandeling van PTSS.

Despite increased attention to the role of fathers within families, there is still a dearth of studies on the impact of trauma on father-involvement. This study investigates the quantity of father-involvement and the influence of posttraumatic stress on the quality of involvement in a refugee and asylum seeker population. Eighty refugees and asylum seekers and their young children (aged 18–42 months) were recruited.

Background: While fear is known to be the dominant affect associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), the presence and possible influence of other emotions is less well explored. Recent changes to diagnostic criteria have added anger, guilt and shame alongside fear as significant emotional states associated with the disorder. This article suggests that shame is a frequent, often poorly recognised sequel to trauma, occurring as a result of the meaning the individual places on the traumatic experience and on subsequent interpersonal and environmental events.

IND, COA en DT&V lanceren online magazine
Op donderdag 22 oktober 2015 verschijnt de eerste editie van VreemdelingenVisie(link is external), het online magazine van IND, COA en DT&V over het werken met vreemdelingen.
De drie organisaties werken intensief samen in de uitvoering van het vreemdelingenbeleid. Een samenwerking waarbij de vreemdeling centraal staat. Dat geldt ook voor het gezamenlijke online magazine.

Er zijn enkele belangrijke verschillen tussen de Posttraumatische Stressstoornis (PTSS) in de
DSM-5 ten opzichte van DSM-IV. In dit artikel worden deze verschillen besproken.
