The foundation for both individual and collective memories of Depokkers in the Netherlands lies in the almost three hundred years of Depok's history. When the Dutch VOC official Cornelis Chastelein died on June 28, 1714, and bequeathed his estate Depok under conditions to 'his' 150 to 200 enslaved individuals, the Depok culture began to take shape, gradually evolving into a culture of memory.

How the COVID-19 Pandemic Influenced Veteran Parents’ Harsh Parenting : Do Parental PTSD and Parental Role Matter?

Prior studies show a heightened risk of child maltreatment during the COVID-19 pandemic because of financial difficulties and parenting stress, but little is known about what happened to the veteran families. This study aimed to examine the influences of the COVID-19 pandemic on veteran parents’ harsh parenting – creating a potential for child maltreatment. Further, we explored the potential moderating effects of parental PTSD and parental role on the association between COVID-19 impacts and veteran harsh parenting.

Herstelschaal Individual Recovery Outcomes Counter (I.ROC) : scoring op universele schalen

Achtergrond: In dit artikel bieden wij normscores voor de I.ROC, een instrument voor het meten van herstel. Normgegevens voor dit instrument op basis van de algemene bevolking worden gepresenteerd in de vorm van twee universele schalen: T-scores en percentielrangordescores (PR-scores). We bespreken voor- en nadelen van beide schalen en gaan in op hun onderlinge relatie.

De hoge comorbiditeit tussen borderline-persoonlijkheidsstoornis (BPS) en traumagerelateerde symptomen, waaronder posttraumatische stressstoornis, vormt een uitdaging voor de klinische praktijk. De plaats van een specifieke traumagerichte aanpak binnen de evidence-based psychotherapieën (EBP’s) voor BPS is onduidelijk. Het doel was synthetiseren van bestaand onderzoek naar specifieke psychologische interventies m.b.t. traumagerelateerde symptomen binnen de verschillende EBP’s voor BPS. Door middel van een scoping review via Medline, Embase, en Web of Science.

Objective: This study investigated the longitudinal impact of trauma incidents during duty on firefighters using latent transition analysis.

 

Cluster analysis of prolonged grief, posttraumatic stress, and depression symptoms in bereaved asylum seekers and refugees

Background: Refugees and asylum seekers (ASRs) are frequently exposed to loss in addition to a variety of other stressors and often display high levels of various psychological symptoms.

 

Objective: The study aimed to primarily determine clusters of prolonged grief disorder (PGD), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression symptoms in bereaved ASRs and secondly identify predictors of cluster membership. Sociodemographic  – and flight-related variables were investigated in exploratory analyses.

The relationship between childhood maltreatment and self-harm : the mediating roles of alexithymia, dissociation, internalizing and posttraumatic symptoms

Background: Although childhood maltreatment is associated with later self-harm, the mechanism through which it might lead to self-harm is not completely understood. The purpose of this study was to examine the roles of alexithymia, dissociation, internalizing and posttraumatic symptoms in the association between exposure to childhood maltreatment and subsequent self-harm.
