The effects of a structured communication tool in patients with medically unexplained physical symptoms : a clusterrandomized trial

Background: Medically Unexplained Physical Symptoms (MUPS) are prevalent among primary care patients andfrequently lead to diminished quality of life, increased healthcare costs, and decreased work participation. We aimedto examine the effects of a work-focused structured communication tool based on cognitive-behavioral therapy inpatients with MUPS.

Psychometric properties of the Global Psychotrauma Screen in the United States

Background:
Prior research assessing the psychometric properties of the Global Psychotrauma Screen provided support for its internal consistency reliability, construct validity, convergent validity, and divergent validity in several international samples, but not specifically in a U.S. subsample.

Objective:
The purpose of this study was to assess psychometric properties of the GPS in the U.S.

Towards a more comprehensive understanding of PTSD and parenting

Background
The impact of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on parenting and the parent-child relationship has been well-documented in the scientific literature. However, some conceptual and methodological challenges within this research field remain.

Procedure
We reflect on a number of challenges that we identified while examining the literature in preparation of an individual participant data meta-analysis on the relationships between PTSD and parenting.

Psychometric Evaluation of the Dutch International Trauma Questionnaire for the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder

Background: The International Trauma Questionnaire (ITQ) is a recent self-report measure to assess the severity and probable posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD) as defined by the 11th revision of the International Classification of Diseases. Few studies have examined the psychometric properties of full and short ITQ versions in depth. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Dutch-translated 28-item ITQ and the 12-item version.

3MDR treatment in an adolescent with PTSD : a case report

Background: As Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in adolescents significantly impacts their well-being, effective treatment is of great importance. Little is known, however, about the novel, multi-modal virtual reality supported, exposure-based psychotherapeutic interventions such as 3MDR in this population.

Objective: To describe the 3MDR treatment of an adolescent with PTSD who did not respond to previous exposure-based PTSD interventions.

Nature and prevalence of PTSD as per DSM-5 and ICD-11 after natural and unnatural deaths

The death of a loved one may lead to posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Although it is conceivable that unnatural losses (caused by e.g., accidents, homicide, or suicide) render people more vulnerable to PTSD than natural losses (e.g., caused by illnesses) this is an understudied issue. The current study sought to enhance knowledge about the presentation and prevalence of PTSD symptoms, in people confronted with natural, non-sudden and unnatural, sudden losses.

Predictors of transitioning to adult mental health services and associated costs : a cross-country comparison

Background: Young people are at risk of falling through the care gap after leaving child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) despite an ongoing need for mental health support. Currently, little is known about the predictors of transitioning to adult mental health services (AMHS), and associated healthcare and societal costs as young people cross the transition boundary.

Objective: To conduct a secondary data analysis exploring predictors of transitioning or falling through the gap and associated costs.

Protocol for a Randomized Hybrid Type 2 Trial on the Implementation of Group Problem Management Plus (PM+) for Venezuelan Women Refugees and Migrants in Colombia

Background: Task-sharing interventions have shown to be feasible and effective in reducing symptoms of psychological distress. Research is currently needed on how task-shared interventions can be sustained with less-intensive technical support from mental health providers, often available in controlled research trials.
