Het Platform Educatie WOII en Sjoa bestaat uit leraren, leraren in opleiding en lerarenopleiders die hun in Yad Vashem opgedane kennis en vaardigheden voortdurend uitbreiden. Daarnaast hebben de leden vaak belangrijke kennis op aanverwante gebieden in huis. Zo is er een expert op het gebied van de Armeense genocide en iemand die meewerkt aan het Spielberg Project. 

Our work showed that anxiety in late-life depression is common and may complicate clinical practice. As an overarching theme, this thesis shows that it may be prudent to distinguish between comorbid anxious arousal and anxiety disorders in late-life depression (chapter 2) as both yields different determinants (chapter 3-7). Moreover, differentiating between specific comorbid anxiety disorders results in even more specific determinants. In this chapter we will discuss these findings (see box 1) in the broader perspective of the research field.

This study analyses the Dutch military’s tactical conduct in Indonesia during the decolonization war of 1945-1949. Its principal questions are how the Dutch armed forces understood and shaped their tactical military conduct in Indonesia, and to what extent this can help explain the extremely violent nature of the war.The Dutch armed forces interpreted the conflict within the conceptual framework of past colonial wars, of the restoration of authority by military means, and of regular warfare.

Background
Exposure to parental suicide has been associated with increased risk for suicide and suicide attempts, although the strength of this association is unclear as evidence remains inconsistent.

Aims
To quantify this risk using meta-analysis and identify potential effect modifiers.

Terwijl Nederland betrokken blijft bij de herinnering aan de genocide van Srebrenica is de moordpartij in de Bosnische politiek nog altijd een heet hangijzer. Steeds duidelijker wordt dat de huidige herinneringscultuur rondom Srebrenica, met haar focus op slachtofferschap, de uitzichtloze situatie in Bosnië niet kan doorbreken. Laat Srebrenica daarom een aangrijppunt worden voor een kritische herinnering aan de gevaren van etnisch nationalisme.

Na zeventien jaar neemt psychiater Ruud Jongedijk afscheid als directeur behandelzaken van ARQ Centrum’45, een innovatief kenniscentrum op het gebied van de psychotraumatologie. Jongedijk’s introductie van Narratieve Exposure Therapie (NET) in Nederland was een doorbraak in de behandeling van patiënten met PTSS ten gevolge van meervoudig trauma.

This study investigated how children, a post-war generation without direct connection to war, relate to the commemoration of World War II (WWII). Seven group interviews were held among pupils in the Netherlands, aged 9 to 18 (n = 55) and, subsequently, questionnaires
were administered to other pupils (n = 374).

Waarom zorgverzekeraars niet méér investeren in ggz-preventie

Afgelopen maandag maakte DSW traditioneel als eerste zorgverzekeraar de hoogte van de nieuwe basisverzekering bekend. Volgend jaar zal die bij hen €127,50 per maand bedragen. Met €3,25 meer dan in 2021 geen schokkende stijging misschien, als je het kan betalen. Maar zonder compensatie van de overheid vanwege de coronaepidemie had dit bedrag makkelijk veel hoger uit kunnen vallen. 

This chapter addresses resilience and identity in victims of trafficking for sexual exploitation. We will consider sexual exploitation as defined by commercial sexual acts which are forced by either physical or psychological means, and for which one receives no or insufficient compensation. We will first introduce various concepts relevant for understanding what factors impact resilience in victims of sexual exploitation.

Ter gelegenheid van de Nationale Indië Herdenking op 15 augustus organiseerde Stichting Pelita een verhalenwedstrijd met als thema De oorlog dichtbij. De verhalen van de vijf winnaars werden gepubliceerd in Pelita Nieuws van augustus 2021. Drie verhalen zijn hier opgenomen, de andere twee verschijnen in het volgende nummer van Impact Magazine.
