The self-help app My Grief : Bereaved parents' experiences of helpfulness, satisfaction and usability

Mobile health (mHealth) apps have been shown to be useful to monitor and reduce mental health problems across a variety of stress-related and affective disorders, yet research on the value of apps for prolonged grief is scarce. Therefore, the main aim of this study was to elucidate bereaved parents' experiences of using the self-help app My Grief with a focus on helpfulness, satisfaction, and usability.

Exploring the feasibility and acceptance of huddinge online prolonged exposure therapy (HOPE) for severe and complex PTSD

Background: Trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy such as prolonged exposure is considered firsthand choice for treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) but is seldom available in regular care. Digital therapy is proposed to bridge this gap, but its effectiveness for severe and complex PTSD is uncertain. The primary objective of the current study was to examine the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effects of digital therapist-guided prolonged exposure (Huddinge Online Prolonged Exposure; HOPE).

Moral injury and mental health among health-care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic : meta-analysis

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, health-care workers (HCWs) may have been confronted with situations that may culminate in moral injury (MI). MI is the psychological distress that may result from perpetrating or witnessing actions that violate one’s moral codes. Literature suggests that MI can be associated with mental health problems.

The effect of maternal childhood maltreatment on postpartum mother–child bonding and maternal hair glucocorticoids

Background: Maternal experiences of childhood maltreatment (CM) constitute a risk factor for impairments in the mother–child relationship. One mechanism underlying this intergenerational transmission may be maternal hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal axis dysregulation. Yet, few studies have examined different maltreatment subtypes, including emotional neglect, considered concurrent depressive symptoms, and used long-term integrated glucocorticoid measures.

Cognitive factors as mediators of the relationship between childhood trauma and depression symptoms : the mediating roles of cognitive overgeneralisation, rumination, and social problem-solving

Background: Childhood trauma has negative immediate and long-term impacts on depression. Questions remain, however, regarding the cognitive factors influencing this relationship. This study aimed to investigate the role of three cognitive factors – cognitive overgeneralisation, rumination and social problem-solving – as mediating factors in the relationship between childhood trauma and symptoms of depression.

Exploring transdiagnostic stress and trauma-related symptoms across the world : a latent class analysis

Background: Although trauma exposure is universally prevalent, the ways in which individuals respond to potentially traumatic events vary. Between-country differences have been identified as affecting the development and manifestation of transdiagnostic psychological symptoms, but it remains unclear how stress and trauma-related transdiagnostic symptoms and risk patterns differ based on geographic region.

Prevalence and associated factors of secondary traumatic stress in emergency nurses : a systematic review and meta-analysis

Background: Nurses in emergency departments are at a high risk of experiencing secondary traumatic stress because of their frequent exposure to trauma patients and high-stress environments.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the overall prevalence of secondary traumatic stress among emergency nurses and to identify the contributing factors.

Predictors of early adulthood insomnia following exposure to a single mass violence attack during adolescence : 7–13 year follow-up from the Utøya and HUNT studies

Background: The long-term impact of mass violence attacks is practically unknown, especially in children and adolescents. In a previous study, we found that 8.5 years after a terror attack targeting mainly adolescents, nearly half of the survivors met diagnostic criteria for insomnia.

Cross-national analysis of the prevalence of prolonged grief disorder

Background
Prolonged grief disorder (PGD) is now included as a diagnosis in international classification systems. Most research on PGD is based on Western populations, but first data from non-Western countries have recently become available. Little is still known about country-related effects on PGD's prevalence.

Objective
Determining possible causes of variations in the prevalence of PGD as defined by DSM-5-TR and ICD-11 within and between countries.
